Dayton Leaders Call Out Sen. Husted For Policies That Keep Driving Up Costs

Ohio families have already seen their expenses climb by $2,175 due to these cost-increasing policies.

COLUMBUS, OH — On Wednesday, July 22 at 1pm, Innovation Ohio will host a press conference outside the Walter H. Rice Federal Building holding Senator Jon Husted accountable for his ongoing support of cost-increasing policies. State Sen. Willis Blackshear, U.S. Army Veteran Rodney Stark, and Michael McGovern with Innovation Ohio will discuss how Ohio families are struggling to make ends meet as energy demand surges, utility costs increase, and the cost of living rises.

Sen. Husted put billionaires and corporations first, voting 18 times in favor of Trump’s war in Iran and other policies that raised costs for Ohio families, farms and businesses, on gasoline, electricity, and tariff-affected goods. This includes voting for a historically unpopular budget despite concerns from the majority of Ohio voters that it would increase their electric bills.

Now, thanks to Husted’s support, Ohio families have paid $2,175 more per household in the first half of 2026, and by the end of 2026, those totals could grow to $3,300.
