President Trump is trying to use the U.S. Postal Service to keep people from voting by mail. His executive order calls for the USPS to not transmit any mail ballots to people who are not on a "State Citizenship List[s]" of eligible voters. 

Days after the Supreme Court lifted an injunction against the order, a federal judge in Massachusetts lifted restrictions and reluctantly allowed Trump to move forward. Now 24 states are suing to block the order, arguing it "violates the Constitution and federal statutes many times over." They claim they will be forced to redesign ballot envelopes and will have only weeks to build new systems to send voter lists to USPS.

Whether we live in Columbus or Columbiana County – most Ohioans believe that the people pick their leaders not the other way around. But Trump is trying to use the US Postal Service to keep us from voting because he knows we are rejecting his cruel agenda. Ohioans see this for what it is: a desperate attempt to hang onto power. The more Trump and his MAGA cronies try to keep us from voting, the more we will come together and tell them to keep their hands off Ohio votes.

• Trump and his MAGA cronies know Americans from all communities and all backgrounds are turning against them. That's why they concoct fake problems and demonize immigrants to justify new ways to keep us from voting.

• In America, most of us believe voters should pick our leaders. The Trump regime is desperately trying to control our elections so it can hold onto power. 

  
  

• Trump’s executive order is just another one of his schemes to seize power from the people. But we are the ones who decide our future. We will ensure the will of the people prevails.

  
  

• States–not the federal government or USPS–run our elections. 

• It is still safe to vote by mail. But because of all the changes, make sure you do it as soon as you can.  

• State and local election officials will continue running elections using proven and reliable processes to make sure every vote is counted.
